Terms of Service

1 Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using the CV Superstar Chrome extension (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users, including anonymous users, free-tier users, and Premium subscribers.

2 Description of Service

CV Superstar is a Chrome browser extension that:

• Analyses your CV against job postings and provides an ATS Alignment Score
• Generates recommended improvements and an upgraded version of your CV
• Allows export of upgraded CVs as PDF or DOCX
• Tracks your job application history (authenticated users)
• Generates cover letters and company briefs (authenticated users)
• Auto-detects job descriptions on LinkedIn

3 Accounts and Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and that you are eligible to enter into a binding agreement.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@cvsuperstar.store if you suspect unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4 Subscription Plans and Billing

4.1 Plan Tiers

CV Superstar offers the following tiers (limits reset every 30 days):

Premium also includes access to Claude AI models and all free-tier features.

4.2 Payments

Payments for Premium subscriptions are processed by our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges at the then-current price. All prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

4.3 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to Premium features until then. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law.

4.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price increase. Continued use of the Premium tier after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.

5 Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload or process content that you do not own or have the right to use
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the extension
• Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service beyond normal human usage
• Circumvent usage limits or access tiers you have not paid for
• Use the Service to generate misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive CVs
• Interfere with the security or integrity of the Service or its infrastructure
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our prior written consent

6 Intellectual Property

6.1 Our IP

CV Superstar, including its software, algorithms, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by or licensed to us. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

6.2 Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the CV content, job descriptions, and other materials you submit ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process it solely to provide the Service to you.

6.3 AI-Generated Output

Upgraded CVs, cover letters, and company briefs generated by the Service are provided for your personal use. You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated output and ensuring it accurately represents your experience and qualifications.

7 AI Services and Limitations

The Service uses Mistral AI and (for Premium users) Anthropic Claude to generate analysis and content. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated output may contain errors, inaccuracies, or hallucinations
• We do not guarantee that use of the Service will result in job interviews or employment offers
• ATS scores are estimates based on keyword and semantic matching; they may not reflect any specific employer's ATS system
• You must review and verify all AI-generated content before submitting it to an employer

8 Disclaimers

9 Limitation of Liability

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in such cases, the above limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CV Superstar and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) Your Content; or (c) your breach of these Terms.

11 Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with LinkedIn, Supabase, Mistral AI, Anthropic, and Google Analytics. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any third-party service.

12 Service Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of material changes. We shall not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

13 Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support@cvsuperstar.store.

14 Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Greece. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Greece.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you also have the right to use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

15 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-extension notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16 General

• Entire agreement — these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us
• Severability — if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force
• Waiver — failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of those rights
• Assignment — you may not assign your rights without our prior written consent; we may assign ours without restriction
